Make Sport Not WarTM Invention

In 1982, about the same time I was developing the marketing plan for Madison, known as Madison's Museum MileTM, I also was playing Pac Man at the bars and thinking how neat it would be to turn video game playing into a sport that I trademarked--Video Athletics. I even hired Michael Skindrud of Madison's LaFollette law firm to get an ® for the idea, but I could not interest the coin-op industry in Chicago to go for the concept.

In future Russ RunningTM Real Letter BlogsTM, I will write specifically about my vision for taking video game playing to the next level--the American sporting level.

As you can see by this poster, I have put a lot of thought into answering the question: What would it take to make video game playing an accepted sport? Acronyms on the poster are: VAS = Video Athlete ® System; TAO-VATM = The Age of Video Athletics and AVAA = American Video Athletic AssociationTM (pronounced ah-vah).

I can easily see the American people relating to the belief that we can "Make Sport Not WarTM by creating a technological sporting complex and to that end I am developing additional Russ Shirts and a Shirt of the Month Club highlighting what I call The New PeaceTM Sign. For now, the basic ecology green print--Russ Feingold For President--t-shirt statement, in checkerboard pattern, on a white or sport gray shirt is the love sound for a new consciousness. Won't you consider joining the fun by wearing a Russ Shirt of mine?
